IAP Hosting -vs- Actual Host
In order to maintain a successful hosting company, all efforts must be focused on providing only hosting. Networks require a lot of financing and attention. Money cannot be diverted to other endeavors. Companies whom provide Internet access / web design / programming / network consulting / printing, bundled with hosting usually means the company is reselling someone else's hosting. Unless they are a major Cable or Telephone Company, typically they do have a hosting division. This "division" is not their primary service. Their basic hosting is bundled with Internet access to create perceived added value. Since Internet access is a primary service, any hosting revenues made are usually diverted to other areas within the company rather than funds being re-injected to the advancement of their hosting services. As well, web sites hosted by an Internet Access Provider are aversely affected by competing with dial up, dsl, or cable users who are consuming bandwidth and system resources. This too poses a greater threat to security.

At interspots our bandwidth is reserved for hosting only, as we do not provide Internet access.
